The iPhone X has reportedly been a bit disappointing when it comes to sales, and Apple may have a mid-year solution to help squeeze a bit more life out of its tenth anniversary handset. According to a new report, Apple will introduce a new gold iPhone X color option, joining the existing silver and space […]
A "blush gold" version of iPhone X — once rumored to ship last year — is not only still alive, but entering production, according to a prominent leak source.

Apple may be preparing to launch a blush gold iPhone X model, according to one well-known phone leaker. Leaker Benjamin Geskin tweeted an image of an iPhone X, as well as the device’s corresponding SIM tray, on Monday — both in the coppery gold color. Geskin said that the iPhone model, codenamed D21A, is currently […]
Apple is still planning to release the iPhone X in a so-called Blush Gold color, according to well-known leaker Ben Geskin.
Geskin tweeted a photo of an iPhone X and an accompanying SIM card tray in the new color earlier today. He said the device is “in production,” with a codename of D21A. In a follow-up tweet, he added that the “color is real” and said Apple just “saved it for later,” but hedged that “stuff can be canceled.”

Geskin has gained a reputation for leaking dummy models, screen protectors, and accessories related to unreleased iPhones, but he doesn’t have a perfect track record. Back in July, he said the iPhone X would be available in four colors, including a “mirror-like” finish that has yet to materialize.
In the months leading up to the iPhone X, it was widely rumored that the device would be available in a trio of colors, including Blush Gold, but Silver and Space Gray ended up being and remain the only colors available.
In September, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the gold model may encounter some production issues and be available in extremely low volume during pre-orders, which didn’t happen, or go on sale at a later date entirely. Since then, rumors have largely gone quiet, beyond a few false release dates.
A year ago this week, Apple unveiled a special (PRODUCT)RED edition of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, so there is some precedence for a new color to be added midway during the product cycle. The white iPhone 4 was also delayed until April 2011, over nine months after the black version launched, due to a lack of UV protection.
Apple may release a (PRODUCT)RED edition of the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X as well, according to Rosenblatt Securities analyst Jun Zhang, and that might be the more likely addition than Blush Gold.
Apple recently announced it will be hosting an education-themed event on Tuesday, March 27 at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago. While the event will be focused on “creative new ideas for teachers and students,” it’s certainly possible we could learn of the new iPhone X colors then.

The leaked iOS 11 GM firmware reveals that there appear to be two new colors for the Apple Watch. We expect to see these at the Apple Event at the Steve Jobs Theater on Tuesday, where we’ll be on site and hands-on with the newly announced devices.

Earlier last week, we were given our first look at what might be Apple’s all-new ‘Copper Gold’ iPhone 8, which boasts a sleek, matte, copper color with a wrap-around casing and dual-lens camera appliqué in a complementary, vibrant yellow-gold. While it certainly is a beautiful new hue for a high-end Apple device, according to rumors that began circulating the web over the weekend, this copper-toned variant of the iPhone 8 might actually be called ‘Blush Gold’ when it comes to market later on this fall.
The rumor has already been backed up by multiple accounts, most notably within the confines of Apple’s Far East iPhone assembly partner, Foxconn, whereat the copper-tinged device has supposedly been dubbed “blush gold” internally.
Likewise, over the weekend it was discovered by Tech Grapple, via a post published to the Chinese social networking site, Weibo, that the copper-colored iPhone 8 is indeed being referred to internally as ‘Blush Gold’. Last, but certainly not least, these blush gold sentiments were corroborated by our friend and reliable iPhone aficionado, Benjamin Geskin, when he shared the news in a Tweet published on Saturday.

Interestingly, it appears that Geskin also sought to clarify that the iPhone 8 (whether ‘Blush Gold’, mirrored-glass, Jet Black, Jet White or otherwise) will be offered in both 64 GB and 128 GB storage capacities. While this scenario is a near certainty, and has even been corroborated by multiple reports from reliable sources, we’d find it hard to believe that Apple would simply “go without” a top-of-the-line 256 GB iPhone 8 variant — especially considering that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are both offered in the high capacity.
In the interim, while we would certainly recommend taking this “Blush Gold” iPhone 8 rumor with a grain of salt, leaks of a dummy iPhone 8 unit, adorned in the matte, brownish-copperish color, have been circulating for days now. And from what we can see so far, it looks absolutely stunning; and so we’re definitely hoping that this comes to pass. Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 8 flagship alongside the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus at a special media event sometime next month, however the iPhone 8 may be unavailable, or available in very limited quantities, until well into October or November of this year as Apple has reportedly been experiencing manufacturing issues.
