Goldman Sachs ([[GS]] -1.6%) plans to offer clients the ability to trade options and futures in ether (ETH-USD), Bloomberg, reports, citing Mathew McDermott, who heads of the bank's digital assets unit.Earlier this year, the company created a cryptocurrency trading desk and started trading two types of bitcoin-linked derivatives, resurrecting a plan it had reportedly shelved in 2018.Overall, the megabanks have been starting to offer crypto trading as the wealthy and institutional investors show interest in the space.Goldman's move into ether options comes after bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies retreated from all-time highs in mid-April as seen in the chart below.SA contributor Hudson Far West expects ether to overtake bitcoin's market cap due to its larger total addressable market.
