Colombian Delivery App Rappi Launches Crypto Payment Pilot Program

Rappi, one of the largest delivery service companies in Latin America, has announced the launch of a pilot project towards the incorporation of cryptocurrency as a payment method. Delivery app @RappiColombia said on Monday it has launched a #cryptocurrency payment pilot program in #Mexico, which will allow customers to convert crypto into credits that can then be used to complete purchases on Rappi's platform. — Cryptonews.com (@cryptonews) April 12, 2022 Colombian Delivery Application Rappi Enters The Crypto Space The delivery service application raised $5 billion in its Series G funding round last year. Additionally, Rappi has been working on winning the regulatory approval in Colombia for operating as a digital bank, as well. With the launch of the project, Rappi has stated the possibility for consumers to use cryptocurrency to purchase Rappi credits. These credits can be utilized to complete payments for delivery services provided in the application. Originated in Colombia, Rappi has its roots in almost all parts of Latin America including Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil.
