The ASUS ZenFone 3.0 Deluxe is getting Android 8.0 Oreo starting today, ASUS confirmed in a forum post. One of our tipsters gave us the heads-up that his device was downloading the update earlier this morning. The post specifically calls out model number ZS550KL, which is the 5.5-inch variant available from ASUS’s US store.

ASUS announced on Twitter last week that this was coming (in addition to updates for the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Zoom) by the end of the month, and it seems they’re right on schedule.

[Deal Alert] ASUS ZenFone AR now $200 off: 6/64 GB $399, 8/128GB $499

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

The ZenFone AR was a peculiar device when it launched. Just looking at the specs, it seems rather beefy for the time—few phones with the Snapdragon 821 had 6/8GB RAM options. This was all intended for use with Google’s Project Tango augmented reality platform, but that was unceremoniously killed last December. As a result, the ZenFone AR is getting a $ 200 price cut.

This brings the 6GB RAM / 64GB storage SKU to $ 399, and the 8GB/128GB SKU to $ 499.

Asus Zenfone 5 Max flaunts Snapdragon 660 on Geekbench

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Asus announced the Zenfone 5 series back at the Mobile World Congress – the range topping Zenfone 5z, the middle ground Zenfone 5 and the midrange Zenfone 5 Lite but there was no mention of a Zenfone 5 Max. Well, the phone is real, but not ready for announcement just yet. After it got its Wi-Fi certification it’s now made an appearance on Geekbench, touting a Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB of RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo. The Geekbench scorecard doesn’t reveal much other meaningful information about the Zenfone 5 Max, but we bet more leaks are on the way to fill us in. Via

ASUS Zenfone 5Z Hands On

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

It’s not even been 6 months since the launch of the iPhone X and the Android world has completely latched on to the fad. The newest to join the notch life is the  Asus Zenfone 5Z. Announced at the Mobile World Congress, the phone could very well be an iPhone X doppelgänger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8hJsSwOVNo Up front, the Zenfone 5Z has a 6.2 inch Full HD+ display with a notch along the top. Bezels are effectively non existent along the sides and just slightly thicker along the bottom. The 18.5:9 aspect ratio makes it very comfortable to grip the large display. The screen itself is an IPS panel that looks rather spectacular. Brightness levels, contrast and viewing angles are absolutely top notch. The Zenfone 5Z is a great looking phone but that unbalanced design sure triggers our inner OCD. Asus has been hyping up the fact that their notch is smaller than the one on the iPhone ten and that’s true but they’re also fitting in fewer sensors here. Asus has also managed to built in stereo speakers on Zenfone 5Z. On the right side you’ll find the volume rockers and power button. Along the bottom is the USB type c …

Hands-on with the ASUS ZenFone 5Z and 5 series: Shameless notch-envy

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

ASUS’ Android phones might slide under the radar for most, but the company’s new ZenFone 5 series probably won’t. The company has had some trouble historically trying to penetrate the US phone market to any great depth—perhaps a result of its crowded, sometimes confusing product portfolio—but nonetheless it persists. Some of its phones have even been pretty good. But now that the wraps have been taken off its latest line of phones, it seems like ASUS has found a successful way to attract the attention it wanted: by copying the iPhone X’s notch.

ASUS formally announced the three new phones at its event in Barcelona just a couple of days ago, and though we had a bit of an idea what the ZenFone 5Q/Lite would look like, the 5 and 5Z were a bit more surprising.

Asus’ Zenfone 5 is the king of the MWC iPhone X knockoffs

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Sure, Apple didn’t have any sort of official presence at this year’s MWC, but this was the week the iPhone X really came into its own. The company’s premium flagship was everywhere in spirit, through the design choices from the competition. For some it was the mere legitimization of the notch — for others, the inspiration was a bit more unabashed. With Huawei’s… Read More
