Apple Working on ‘Swagger’ TV Show Based on NBA Star Kevin Durant

Apple is developing a new drama series that’s based on the early life and career of NBA star Kevin Durant, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, reports Variety.

The show, called “Swagger,” was inspired by Durant’s experiences as a youth playing basketball. It will highlight the world of Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball, taking a look into the lives of players, their families, and coaches.

Imagine Television, led by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, will produce alongside Kevin Durant’s Thirty Five Media. Both Durant and Grazer will serve as executive producers, while Reggie Rock Bythewood will write and direct. Bythewood is known for his work on “Notorious,” a movie that shared the story of Notorious B.I.G., and television series “Shots Fired.”

Apple now has at least 10 television shows in the early stages of development, including an untitled morning show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, an “Amazing Stories” reboot from Steven Spielberg, an untitled space drama from Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore, a series written by “La La Land” creator Damien Chazelle, a Kristen Wiig comedy series, See, an epic world-building drama, Home, a docuseries focusing on incredible homes, and “Little America,” an anthology series from “The Big Sick” creators Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon.

Android’s ‘Check for update’ button seems to be working after Google Play Services 12.2.09 update

Google Pixel 2 XL hands-on review

Last year, Google said that Android’s “Check for update” button would be fixed to actually pull an update if there was one available for your phone. Google then said a few months later that the button was broken but that it’d be fixed in 2018. Now it looks like the button is indeed working.

Google Play Services version 12.2.09 appears to enable the “Check for update” button. The update isn’t rolling out to the public quite yet, but it is available in beta. You can get it by joining the Play Services beta on the Play Store or by side loading it from APK Mirror.

Google hasn’t officially announced that Play Services v12.2.09 fixes the “Check for update” button, but many people that’ve installed it on their phones have had success pulling the February 2018 update.

It can be super frustrating when you know that there’s a new update available for your phone but hitting the “Check for update” button doesn’t pull it down. That’s why it’s great to see that Google is finally making the button work for its device. Now when there’s a new feature or security patch that you want, you should be able to snag it right away.

The LG V30 was somewhat of a mixed bag. It had a fantastic design, with excellent camera performance, a microSD card slot, wireless charging, and even a headphone jack. Unfortunately, the OLED screen suffered from quality issues, and the $ 830 asking price likely kept many potential buyers away. LG could be working on a slightly-upgraded version, according to a new report from ET News.

The phone, which is believed to be the ‘V30s,’ won’t be much of a change from the existing model.
