Motorola stepping into VR, Virtual Viewer Moto Mod surfaces

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Motorola is apparently stepping into the VR space as the company is working on its Virtual Viewer moto mod. Thanks to popular leakster Evan Blass, we now have our first look at the Mod. Motorola’s Mod range currently includes a Projector, Polaroid printer, Battery Packs, Gamepads, and more. However, not much is known about the VR except for the design and box that it comes in with. From the design angle, you will have to connect your Moto Z phone inside of the handset for VR experience. We also don’t have the details about its working. The Motorola VR headset closely resembles Google’s Daydream View headset. [HTML1] Unlike the Daydream headset which can be used with any compatible phone, Moto’s Virtual Viewer is strictly limited to Moto Z series phones. Since there is no cutout for the rear camera in the VR headset, it is possible that Motorola might add augmented reality feature on top of the regular VR content. Since this is an early leak, we don’t have the pricing or launch date. Source

Moto Z2 Force hands-on rear

Motorola has cooked up quite a few different Moto Mods for its Moto Z smartphones, including speakers, battery packs, a projector, and a 360-degree camera. Now a new leak has revealed the next Mod that Moto has created.

The Virtual Viewer Moto Mod has been leaked by Evan Blass. The device looks like a virtual reality headset, packing an adjustable strap and a cutout in the front for a smartphone camera.

It’s unclear exactly what this Virtual Viewer is, when it’ll launch, or how much it’ll cost when it does arrive. It’s possible that this device will support Google’s Daydream VR platform, giving Moto Z device owners a new way to give mobile virtual reality a try. We’ll have to wait until it actually launches before we know for sure, though. One thing that we do know is that it’s good to see Motorola continue to cook up accessories for its flagship Moto Z family.

Do you own any Moto Mods? If so, which ones?

Now that we’ve established that the MotoMod-compatible Moto Z family of smartphones is still alive, let’s focus our attention on those mods. Namely, an upcoming one that just leaked. Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the Motorola Virtual Viewer MotoMod. It definitely looks like a VR headset. With the single strap it might be a Daydream VR compatible accessory too. What’s clear is that you’ll insert your Motorola smartphone into it and do VR things. There’s a cutout for the phone’s camera, so maybe some AR will be allowed too? Theoretically you could get a view of the world outside…
