Verizon kicking off Galaxy S9 BOGO, iPhone trade-in deals tomorrow

Verizon’s got two new promotions kicking off tomorrow: one for Android users and one for iOS users.

First up, Verizon is launching a Buy One, Get One deal on the Samsung Galaxy S9. Customers who buy a Galaxy S9 or S9+ on a device payment plan can get a second Galaxy S9 for free in the form of $ 799.99 in bill credits spread out over 24 months.

To get this deal, you’ll need to activate at least one new line of service. No trade-in is necessary.

Verizon is also launching a deal tomorrow that’ll offer up to 50 percent off an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or iPhone X with qualifying trade-in. To get this deal, you’ll need to purchase your new iPhone on a device payment plan, sign up for an unlimited data plan, and trade in an eligible phone.

This deal is available to upgrading customers and switchers. Also worth noting is that your discount will be applied over 24 months.

With one day to go before pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ get underway, AT&T has announced a trade-in deal for the upcoming Android flagships.

AT&T will give customers up to $ 350 in trade-in credit when they trade in a smartphone and buy the Galaxy S9 or S9+. Here are the devices eligible for trade-in:

  • Guaranteed minimum $ 350 when trading in a Samsung Galaxy S8 family or Note8; Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus or iPhone X; LG V30; Google Pixel 2/XL Phone
  • Guaranteed minimum $ 300 when trading in a Samsung Galaxy S7 family smartphone
  • Guaranteed minimum $ 200 when trading in any other smartphone with a catalog value of at least $ 20

In addition to this trade-in offer, AT&T is offering a $ 150 bill credit to customers when they port a line from another carrier.

AT&T’s pricing for the Galaxy S9 is $ 26.34 per month for 30 months on AT&T Next ($ 789.99 full retail), while the Galaxy S9+ is $ 30.50 per month for 30 months ($ 914.99 full retail). Google fixes Pixel trade-in factory reset and misclassification problems

Just a bit before the new Pixel 2 phones launched, Google released a new trade-in program that allows you to swap an older phone for credit that can be applied (in the form of a partial refund) on a purchase. Since it rolled out, there have been reports that the inspection being performed on phones isn’t accurate, resulting in an incorrect trade-in value assessment. According to a statement by a Google rep, this issue seems to have been fixed, at least when it comes to Pixel phones and factory reset/device classification.
