Samsung Galaxy Note 8 hands-on

A few days after AT&T began updating its Galaxy Note 8 to Android 8.0 Oreo, two other major U.S. carriers have starting doing the same thing.

Android 8.0 Oreo is now arriving for the Verizon and Sprint versions of the Galaxy Note 8. PhoneDog readers Steve and Travis began getting their updates early this morning, and several Note 8 owners on Reddit have received their updates as well.

Verizon Galaxy Note 8 Oreo update

The update to Android 8.0 Oreo brings with it new features like picture-in-picture, autofill, and notification dots. Also included is the March 1, 2018 Android security patch and some Samsung-specific improvements.

These updates are now rolling out over the air, so if you’ve got a Galaxy Note 8 on Verizon or Sprint, you should see it over the coming days. You can also check for it manually by going into your Settings app.

Now we wait to see when T-Mobile will push out its own Galaxy Note 8 Oreo update.

Thanks, Steve and Travis!

The roll out has just begin, so it may take time for the update notification to pop up on your device’s screen. This comes less than a couple of weeks after the Verizon V30 started getting the Oreo update. Via

LG V30 on Sprint gets Android 8.0 Oreo

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

LG has released a number of V30 variants over the past few months, with some of them running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box (like the V30S ThinQ). Unfortunately, the company has been slow to update the Nougat-powered V30 and V30+, at least outside of South Korea. The Verizon V30 received Android 8.0 earlier this month, and now the Sprint model is next.

We received the above screenshot from one of our readers (thanks Ted!), who said the update was 1.7GB in size.

Samsung ships out Sprint Galaxy S9s with Verizon SIM cards, chaos ensues

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Galaxy S9s began shipping out a few days ago, though Sprint customers who ordered their phones via Samsung’s official site are having some issues. For some reason, Verizon SIM cards are being sent out with Galaxy S9s intended for Sprint, and it’s causing quite a bit of confusion.

We actually first learned of this by way of Brandon from our own YouTube channel (which you should check out, by the way).

Motorola may be in the middle of a big staffing shake-up, but that’s not stopping the company from keeping up with the flow of software updates for its existing hardware.
