Samsung releases a blog post today offering more insight on how the phone maker was able to put 960fps Super Slo-mo into the Galaxy S9 and what difference it has over the Galaxy Note8’s camera to make it possible. First off, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ can record 960 frames in 0.2 seconds. This is stretched out to playback over six seconds and is 30 times slower than normal video recording. Samsung also threw in GIF exporting, reverse, and swing options to share your creations. Of course, the issue that Samsung faced was that modern CMOS sensors capture light sequentially,…
Despite being equipped with much larger Li-ion battery packs, new tests have revealed that the battery life performance of Samsung’s latest Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices pale in comparison to Apple’s iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus. Independent battery performance tests conducted by PhoneArena revealed that even despite their voluminous superiority, Samsung’s S9 and S9+ are […]
Now that all of the last year’s Samsung flagships have started receiving Oreo, the South Korean company seems to have shifted its focus to the next batch of devices that will get the update. The batch will likely include the Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A3 (2017), as all of these devices has been spotted on the website of WiFi Alliance with Android 8.0 on board. One week after updating the Gear S2 with new features, Samsung has begun pushing a significant software update to two more of its wearables.
Samsung is now updating its Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro. The update connects the new Weight Management (three images above left) and Fitness Program (above right) features to the Samsung Health app on phones. Weight Management will show info like your daily exercise and calorie count, while Fitness Program will connect your wearable with your TV and smartphone as you view exercise content.
Also included in this update is an improved Workout Screen (below left) that’s been made easier to read by showing three pieces of workout data at a time. You can customize which data is shown, such as distance traveled, calories burned, heart rate, and exercise duration.
Additionally, a new Multi-workouts widget (above center) will give you faster access to workouts, while a Health Summary widget (above right) will show your total exercise for the day at a glance.
The Gear Fit2 and Gear Fit2 Pro launched late last year as Samsung’s newest fitness-focused wearables. It’s good to see Samsung show the devices some more love with an update that not only adds new features, but also makes them easier to use.
If you’ve got a Gear Fit2 or Gear Fit2 Pro, you can download this update using the Samung Gear app on your phone.
