In February, secure messaging service Telegram launched a presale for its cryptocurency prior to an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), raising $ 850 million from 81 investors, and later that month, The Verge learned that it was launching a second private presale, in which it aimed to double that amount. Bloomberg Technology reports that the company did just that, and has raised a total of $ 1.7 billion in March between the two sales.

In a filing to the Securities and Exchanges Commission, Telegram says that it raised an additional $ 850 million from 94 investors in the second sale, bringing the total amount to $ 1.7 billion. It also says that it might “pursue one or more subsequent offerings” beyond these first two sales.

Snap is laying off around 100 more people, this time in sales

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel

It’s the third round of cuts already in 2018.

Snap is laying off about 100 people, primarily from the company’s sales org.

It’s the third round of layoffs for Snap since the beginning of the year; the company also restructured its content teams in January and laid off around 120 engineers earlier this month.

Imran Khan, the company’s chief strategy officer and the head of all its business operations, said in a statement that these layoffs were part of a planned downsizing that started late last year. Here’s his full statement:

“Over the past two years our company has grown a tremendous amount. Late last year we asked senior leaders across Snap to look closely at their teams to ensure they had the right resources and organizations to support their missions. As a result, new structures have been put in place for Content, Engineering, Sales and many other parts of Snap. These changes reflect our view that tighter integration and closer collaboration between our teams is a critical component of sustainably growing our business. While this process has required us to make some really tough decisions, we believe that rigorously ensuring our team structure always aligns with our goals will make us stronger.”

A source inside the company told Recode that this is the last big cut planned as part of that restructuring. Bloomberg first reported the news.

It’s been just over a year since Snap went public, and it’s clear the company is still finding its footing. It’s business has been inconsistent, but Snap just had its best quarter at the end of 2017, and CEO Evan Spiegel has said internally that he wants to get to profitability by the end of the year. Cutting head count should help with that.

Investors don’t seem concerned with Snap’s layoffs. The stock is up less than 1 percent.

Nick Kohlschreiber Predicts Smart Apps to Lead Advertisement Sales in 2018

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

It is no surprise that the amount of digital media consumed by shoppers and individuals has skyrocketed in the past few years, and this is a key time for advertisers to take advantage of pushing the bulk of sales through apps.

In addition, custom send times for these notifications based on when the user is most active raised retention rates by over 400%.

Modern marketing expert Nick Kohlschreiber predicts that as developers continue to understand how customers interact with their favorite apps and integrate more automation tools using artificial intelligence, these “Smart Apps” will come to define mobile advertising strategies.

Driven by new marketing centric technologies including chatbots, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation, these innovative applications are creating a fundamental shift in how consumers interact with their mobile devices.

Modern apps already have the ability to personalize content down to the individual user, as opposed to broader segments. With advanced predictive analytics, a customer’s desires will soon be anticipated before they are even expressed.

Thanks to complex algorithms of previous user choices and interactions, Kohlschreiber predicts that smart apps will soon be able to suggest relevant content at the precise time the consumer is most likely to engage.

According to Kohlschreiber, customization – backed by powerful data – has the potential to touch every key mobile marketing metric. Launching personalized campaigns with approachable content will improve user conversions, reduce acquisition spending, and drive ROI across the board.

The iPhone X has reportedly been a bit disappointing when it comes to sales, and Apple may have a mid-year solution to help squeeze a bit more life out of its tenth anniversary handset. Apple supposedly plans to ‘restore’ iPhone X sales with the help of a new color

New iPhone X Colors

Apple on Tuesday will hold a press conference in Chicago with a focus on education. What’s unusual about the event isn’t just the location, but also the fact that Apple won’t live stream it, which is strange, considering that Apple has done it with all its major announcements in the past few years.

On the other hand, it’s not like Apple will unveil a large number of new products in Chicago. A cheaper iPad-for-eduction is expected to be the only star of the show. The Retina MacBook Air isn’t ready, reports said. But what about new iPhones? A pair of fresh rumors say Apple may be working on new colors for its iPhone 8 and iPhone X, to “restore sales.”

It doesn’t seem likely for differently colored iPhones to be unveiled on Tuesday. After all, the red iPhone 7 models were unveiled last March via a regular press release rather than a press conference. On the other hand, the iPhone X is the kind of special handset that might get a mention during Apple’s Chicago event.

So what’s the new iPhone X color? Red makes the most sense, as Apple has done it with the iPhone 7 last year. @Onleaks says that red-colored iPhones may be on the way.

Japanese-language blog Macotakara has it that Apple will release a new iPhone X version “for the purpose of restoring sales,” mentioning gold as an option. Leaker Benjamin Geskin said a while ago that Apple is working on a “blush gold” version of iPhone X.

Macotakara also noted that a sixth-gen iPad will be released in the third quarter of 2018.
