Huawei P20 shown in leaked renders with triple rear camera setup

One day after we saw Huawei’s P20 event invitation and it’s tease at a triple camera setup, renders of the P20 itself have leaked out.

These Huawei P20 renders are based on schematics and come to us from @OnLeaks and TigerMobiles. The images show a device that’s reminiscent of the iPhone X, sporting a notch at the top of its screen and a pill-shaped camera protrusion on its backside. There are a few design differences with the Huawei P20 that are worth pointing out, though.

Huawei P20 image leak

First, the Huawei P20 has a third camera below the dual cameras in that aforementioned pill-shaped protrusion on the back of the phone. Meanwhile, the front of the phone is home to a fingerprint reader below the display, which means that it’s got some bezel at the bottom of its screen, too.

Spec details for the Huawei P20 are still up in the air, but it’s said that the display appears to be around 5.7 inches. The bottom of the phone appears to be home to a USB-C port.

Huawei P20 Plus image leak

Renders of the Huawei P20 Plus have leaked out as well, and it looks largely similar to the Huawei P20, including the triple rear camera setup. There doesn’t appear to be a fingerprint reader on this device, though, and the screen is said to be around 6 inches.

Huawei is hosting an event on March 27, and it’s expected that we’ll officially meet the P20 and its variants there. It’ll be interesting to see how Huawei plans to take advantage of the triple rear camera setup on the P20. Many flagship phones now offer dual rear cameras to give you portrait mode images or monochrome shots, but what will Huawei do with a third rear camera? We’ll find out next month.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S design, specifications surface – Snapdragon 845, under-display fingerprint sensor, dual rear cameras

Xiaomi introduced the Mi MIX 2 smartphone back in September last year. Now sketches of the Mi MIX 2S along with rumored specifications has surfaced in China. The design shows minimal bezels for the smartphone, front-facing camera that has been moved from bottom right to the top right corner, dual rear cameras on the back. It is also said to feature under-display fingerprint sensor. It is said to feature four-sided curved ceramic uni-body design, powered by Snapdragon 845 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, global 4G LTE bands and 12-megapixel dual rear cameras with optical zoom, which is rumored to be feature unannounced Sony IMX363 sensors. The leak doesn’t reveal the display size or resolution, front camera details and the battery capacity. Another rumor says that the phone will be unveiled at the MWC 2018 later this month, which is doubtful since earlier reports said that Samsung has secured first batch of Snapdragon 845 SoCs for the Galaxy S9 smartphones that will be introduced at the MWC later this month and go on sale next month. Huawei’s iPhone X clone has three rear cameras and a smaller notch

Huawei P20 Release Date

Huawei’s next phone will be a true iPhone X rival, complete with a 3D facial recognition system, AI features, and a triple-lens rear camera — no, that’s not a typo. Dubbed the Huawei P20, the new phone should be unveiled at some point in March, according to some reports, so don’t expect to see it at MWC 2018 later this month.

While you wait, you can check out the following video, which shows the purported design of the handset.

In a collaboration between long-time leaker @OnLeaks and Tiger Mobiles, the short clip below gives us a 360-degree look at the Huawei P20.

The phone is expected to have an all-screen design like the iPhone X, although the notch will be much narrower. The phone should pack a 6-inch display with a 2:1 aspect ratio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It’s unclear why, but the Huawei P20 will have three lenses on the back rather than the two-lens cameras seen on the iPhone X and other Android flagships.

There’s no fingerprint sensor in these images, but don’t rule it out completely. According to the leakers, Huawei is currently testing two prototypes, including one that has no home button, and one with a home button below the screen — that’s right, below the display, not under it.

The Huawei P20 should arrive in various configurations, including regular, Lite, and Plus models, but the leak doesn’t mention any release date details or pricing for Huawei’s upcoming phones. That said, it’s probably safe to say that US carriers will not stock Huawei hardware anytime soon.
