If you’re going to make the most of Safari as your desktop browser, it might make sense to memorize some of the best keyboard shortcuts to supercharge your browsing workflow.

This is especially true for folks who have dozens of open tabs at any given time. Safari for Mac provides you with many productivity-infused keyboard shortcuts that save time, including a trio of essential keyboard combinations for quickly switching between your open tabs.

TUTORIAL: 11 must-know Safari keyboard shortcuts for Mac

The macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 software update brought out yet another powerful shortcut for quickly getting to the rightmost tab. This is a handy productivity feature for those times when you have more tabs than fit Safari’s tab bar.

It’s only available on Macs that run macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or higher so be sure to update your copy of macOS to the latest version available by choosing App Store from the Apple menu, then click the Updates tab.

How to jump to rightmost Safari tab

To get to the rightmost open tab in Safari for Mac, press Command (⌘)-9 on the keyboard.

Again, this particular shortcut requires that macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or later be installed on your Mac. If you have an older macOS edition, pressing the same shortcut will select your ninth tab from the left. In case you didn’t know, you can jump quickly to any of your first eight tabs by pressing Command (⌘)-1 to Command (⌘)-8.

macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and up allows jumping to the rightmost open tab using Command-9

You can cycle through your open tabs even faster with a trackpad gesture: when there are more tabs than fit in Safari’s tab area, use your trackpad to swipe left or right over the tab bar to scroll through your open tabs like a pro.

And if your Mac has the Touch Bar feature, you can touch an icon displayed on the Touch Bar to jump directly to the corresponding tab or scroll through all of your open tabs by swiping left or right over the Touch Bar area.

How to Quickly Delete Duplicate Photos on iPhone

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Even as options for iPhone storage continue to grow, we still find ourselves running out of space. There are lots of tips and tricks for creating free space on your iOS device, and one of the easiest is to find duplicate photos on your phone.

The easiest way to do that is to use a free app on your phone.

Dr. Cleaner is a free iOS app that scans your photo library and will identify any potential duplicates. Once the app identifies the duplicates, you can scan through the list and select any photos that you want to delete.

How to Delete Duplicate Photos on iPhone

  1. After you launch Dr. Cleaner, tap the Photos tab.
  2. Tap the red Start button.
  3. The first time you run the app, you’ll be prompted to grant it access to your photos.
  4. Once Dr. Cleaner has scanned your photos, you’ll see a list of thumbnails of duplicate photos. There’s an additional tab for duplicate screenshots.
  5. You can open images if you need to take a closer look.
  6. Tap the circle icon to select images you want to delete. (Be sure to tap right on the circle or you may inadvertently open the image.)
  7. Tap the Clean button.

Dr. Cleaner will also let you know how much space you’re clearing up on your phone when you delete the images.

You’re not going to want to rely 100 percent on an app without scanning those photos first. With all apps that include a duplicate photo finding feature, there are always going to be mistakes, and Dr Cleaner is no exception. Some similar photos and screenshots were mistaken for duplicates, but a quick manual scan ensures that nothing is inadvertently deleted.

In addition to deleting duplicate photos, Dr. Cleaner can also be used to delete or merge duplicate contacts. If you’re looking for more ways to keep your phone clean, be sure to delete or offload apps you’re not using and clear the Google Maps cache.

Facebook Launching News Feed Tool to Let Users Quickly Revoke Permissions From Apps

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg this afternoon addressed the ongoing Cambridge Analytica situation, in which Cambridge Analytica used personal data acquired from Facebook in an illicit manner by a third-party app to create targeted political advertisements during the 2016 election.

Zuckerberg outlined a multi-step response that Facebook plans to take to prevent this situation from recurring, and one feature Facebook will add is a new tool at the top of the News Feed which will let people see which apps they’ve used.

Any app used on the Facebook platform has access to a user’s personal data, so the Facebook tool will let people see which apps have their info and it will offer up an easy way to revoke permissions.

This tool is already available through Facebook’s privacy settings, but the company plans to make it more accessible to all users.

Back in 2014, Facebook implemented changes to reduce the amount of data apps had access to (the CA data was pre-2014), and Facebook says it will now investigate all apps that had access to large amounts of information before the platform change.

We will conduct a full audit of any app with suspicious activity. We will ban any developer from our platform that does not agree to a thorough audit. And if we find developers that misused personally identifiable information, we will ban them and tell everyone affected by those apps.

Zuckerberg also says Facebook plans to remove developers’ access to data if an app hasn’t been used in three months, and the amount of data provided to an app when a user signs in will be further restricted to name, profile photo, and email address. Access to posts or other private data will require users to explicitly approve the action.

The Cambridge Analytica scandal has resulted in a massive “Delete Facebook” movement from users concerned over the data Facebook collects and how it’s used, and Facebook stock has sharply declined this week.

Facebook users who are not satisfied with Zuckerberg’s response can permanently delete a Facebook account by clicking this link. Before doing so, it’s recommended Facebook users download an archive of their content so no photos are lost.
