How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Nest made both its Nest Hello smart doorbell and its Nest x Yale Lock available earlier this month. The Nest Hello went up for sale on the Google Store about a week ago, and now it’s the Nest x Yale Lock’s turn. The keyless lock can now be purchased for $ 279 from Google’s storefront.

The Nest x Yale Lock finally arrived this month after massive delays, and its main differentiator from other smart locks is that it doesn’t have a keyhole anywhere.

TrashFromLS lets you delete emails via the Lock screen without authentication

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Depending on your iPhone’s notification settings, you might receive email notifications on the Lock screen as the flow of messages come in. While it can be convenient to see these email previews, it’s somewhat annoying that you can’t delete incoming emails from the Lock screen without authenticating yourself first.

A new free jailbreak tweak called TrashFromLS by iOS developer Kiran Patil was just released in Cydia this week and tackles this problem head-on. After installing it, you can move incoming emails to the trash without authenticating yourself…. Read the rest of this post here

Review: Yale’s Assure Lock SL is an awesome HomeKit-enabled smart lock with room to grow [Video]

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

When it comes to HomeKit devices, our own Zac Hall is the resident expert around these parts, but I’m doing my best to come up to speed with the plethora of options available. I recently took my first stab at installing a smart lock, the 3rd gen August Smart Lock, only to later find out that it wasn’t HomeKit compatible. It’s primarily my fault, because I wasn’t diligent enough with my research, but August, with its somewhat confusing nomenclature should take a portion of the blame as well.

Needless to say, I wasn’t keen on the idea of having a smart lock installed without HomeKit support. That would mean that I couldn’t unlock my door with Siri commands, couldn’t use the Home app to control the lock, and couldn’t use HomeKit automation to trigger other HomeKit-enabled devices. In other words, a smart lock without HomeKit support is just not something that appeals to me.

That’s not to say that the third-generation August Smart Lock is a bad product, because that certainly isn’t the case. It’s actually a decent product that’s inexpensive and easy to install. It’s just not for those who are knee-deep in the Apple/HomeKit ecosystem.

I reached out to Yale Real Living to inquire about reviewing its Assure Lock SL, which recently landed support for HomeKit via its iM1 network module. What I discovered was a modestly-featured smart lock with a fair amount of advanced controls. In fact, I’m strongly considering the purchase of another one. more…

Nest releases Hello Doorbell and x Yale Lock

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Nest is a hardware company that markets and sells home security cameras. The company was acquired back in 2014 in a $ 2.3 billion dollar acquisition. The company’s newest products are the Hello and x Yale Lock. Nest Hello is a doorbell which can accurately be described as “Nest’s version of the Ring Doorbell”. The design is certainly less blocky and with more curves. The button’s LED lights up as a guest approaches so it’s easy to spot. The general concept is otherwise the same. Get an alert when someone is at the door and you can see who it is with an app on your smartphone. “It’s…
