You can try a Pixel Launcher with Android Go optimizations for low-end phones

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

XDA-Developers is a large community of developers, many of which enjoy Android development and a hobby and contribute their projects with the public. Since the Google Pixel Launcher isn’t available on the app store, both the Pixel and Pixel 2’s Launchers were repacked into APKs that can be installed on any Android device and would work without the need to root, appropriately named “Rootless Pixel Launcher” by AmirZ, and “Rootless Pixel 2 Launcher” by paphonb, both members of XDA. The Rootless Pixel Launcher is also optimized for tablets like the Google Pixel C and comes with various…

Google said to be testing revamped Pixel launcher search bar for Pixel 3

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

With every major Android release, Google revamps its Pixel launcher to accommodate the device and the new design language better. With Android P right around the corner, we now are seeing a slightly revamped Pixel launcher that will ship with the Google Pixel 3. The new revamped launcher is found by modifying the existing Pixel Launcher APK from the Google Pixel 2 to enable some hidden, in-development features of the launcher. The Pixel launcher’s search bar is now split into two; one for search and one with Google mic icon. We’re not sure what the purpose of this change or it is part of the rumored Material Design 2 set to be unveiled during Google I/O 2018. A similar thing happened during the Pixel 2, and the modded APK with bottom search bar was out before its release thanks to many APK modders. XDA the sole power behind the new finding has mentioned that it will soon publish an update to the modded app with these new changes available as a toggle. The in-development parameters of the latest official APK are a giveaway to prove that this revamped launcher is indeed for the Google Pixel 3. Source

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Google has never been one to shy away from shipping hidden, in-development code inside production software. It’s one of those little things about the web titan than can put a smile on any enthusiastic developer or modder’s face and is typically how we get early clues about upcoming features and design changes. Old Pixel Launcher home • New Pixel Launcher home This time around, one of the guys over at XDA managed to unearth some UI tweaks in the latest official Pixel Launcher APK. These are subtle, but still quite noticeable and, for now, affect the Google search bar. The…

WhatsApp beta for Android gets adaptive launcher icon

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

WhatsApp V2.18.74 beta for Android brings adaptive launcher icon which is a part of the Android O. The latest icon looks almost similar to the one that we have seen years ago replacing the older more shadowy one. WhatsApp rarely changes its identity, but falling in line with Android O, WhatsApp has made the icon more modern even if you don’t like it. The new icon is similar to the old one, except that it is now placed in an encased mask that takes shapes depending on what you set your adaptive icons. If you’re using a launcher that supports these icons you can now set it to default which is a circle, square, rounded square, squircle, and teardrop. WhatsApp beta with version number V2.18.74 brings the new set of adaptive launcher icons. You can download the WhatsApp beta from Play Store if you’re already a beta tester, if not you can grab the APK from here and side-load it manually. Via

[Classic] Weekend Poll: Do you use a custom launcher on your phone?

Cash For Apps: Make money with android app

Probably the single most appreciated aspect of Android is its capacity for extensive customization, and many first dip their toes into those tailor-made waters with a custom launcher. It’s been six years since we first asked this question, and we’ve come back to it regularly. But it’s time to ask it again: Do you use a custom launcher?

Every once in a while we like to revisit the same subject as an earlier poll, just to see how opinions may have changed.

Yahoo ends support for Aviate Launcher on March 8

A long time ago in Android land, a new launcher appeared in the Play Store. Called Aviate, it promised features that were, at that point in time, unique and relatively unheard of. The gist was that the launcher would predict what apps you would need, based on the time of day and later your location and other factors. It was supposed to make life easier by doing the homescreen customization for you, but my experience with it proved that it was merely a disappointment and a frustration.
