How to Keep Your HomePod from Messing Up Your Apple Music Recommendations

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

One of the coolest features of Apple’s new HomePod is its ability to team up with your Apple Music subscription and act as a personal DJ, playing custom playlists based on your listening habits for you enjoy whenever you ask. Your HomePod’s mixology skills can get thrown off kilter, though, if family members or visitors are also asking Siri to play their favorite tunes. And this will also influence what Apple Music thinks you like and plays for you on your other Apple Devices as well. Fortunately, there’s a HomePod setting you can change to ensure that you won’t end up listening to a mish-mosh of all your friends’ and family members’ musical tastes. Let’s get started learning how to keep other HomePod users from influencing your “For You” Apple Music recommendations on your HomePod.

How to Update HomePod to 11.3

Apple has released the first software update for HomePod. It includes performance improvements and minor bug fixes. Updating HomePod to the latest software 11.3 (15E217) Version is dead simple and is done right from inside the Home app on the connected iOS device.

Before going ahead with the process, just ensure that the smart speaker is powered on and perfectly configured. Also, make sure that your iOS device is connected to Wi-Fi network.

How to Update HomePod to 11.3 (15E217) Version

Step #1. First off, make sure the HomePod is on. Open the Home app on your iOS device.

Step #2. Now, you need to tap on the location button at the top right corner.

Step #3. Next, scroll down to Speakers section and tap on Software Update.

Now, the app will check for available updates. If it’s available, the details about the update, including size, name, and corresponding release notes will appear.

Tap on Update button below the software update details.

Step #4. The smart speaker will now download and Install the update to all HomePods configured in the Home app.

That’s it!

Now, let the software update be complete. You may have to wait for around 10 minutes.

The LED indicator will now circle around on the HomePod letting you know that it’s being updated.

After the update is completed, you will receive a “software is up to date” message inside the Software Update section of the Home app. Then the LED indicator will stop on the speaker.

Over to you

Personally, I’m bit disappointed to come to know that the software update doesn’t include the support of AirPlay 2. I hope Apple brings it sooner than later.

There is also an option to update your Apple smart speaker automatically. Jump over to this post to know more.

HomePod gets first (disappointing) update

The software update Apple just released for the HomePod doesn’t include AirPlay 2, the most anticipated new feature. In fact, this new version doesn’t seem to have any enhancements, though maybe that’s to be expected from a smart speaker that just launched last month. AirPlay allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your iOS device […]
