Curves, Gestures May Be in iPhone’s Future

Gesture control and a curved body may be in the iPhone’s future. Apple has been experimenting with those features for the iPhone, and they could be ready for prime time in two to three years. Gesture control would allow a user to execute tasks without touching the screen. The technology could be used for more than just answering phone calls and opening apps, noted Gartner analyst Tuong Nguyen. “It could be folded into an umbrella of multi-modal user experiences — understanding what you want through a gesture, a touch, voice or a biometric.”

Report: Apple is building an iPhone with touchless gestures

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

The iPhone X lets you unlock your device without even touching it. Now, it seems Apple may be working on a way to let you actually use your phone without touching it either. According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is working on “touchless gesture control” which would allow iPhone users to “perform some tasks by moving their finger close to the screen without actually tapping it.” Think of how many styluses allow you to hover over your screen without touching anything, for instance. Granted, this would be far from the first time we’ve seen  touchless gesture controls – remember…

iPhones with curved screens and touchless gestures coming in 2-3 years

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

A new report purportedly coming from “people with knowledge of the matter” says Apple is working on bringing curved screens to its smartphones, a move which may happen in around 2-3 years. These panels will curve inward gradually from top to bottom, and not down at the edges like Samsung’s recent flagships. It’s unclear if Apple sees any additional benefit in ergonomics by going a different direction with its curves, or this is simply a measure meant to preemptively stop people from saying it copied Samsung. Bloomberg: Apple considering future iPhone models with ‘hover’ gestures and curved screens

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Apple is considering future iPhone models with some drastic changes in design. The Bloomberg report details two major differences to current iPhone lineup, although it sounds like the projects are tentative and experimental; at the very least these features are still years away from shipping.

The report says Apple is testing an iPhone display that can detect gestures from fingers without actually touching the screen, almost like ‘hovering’ over a UI element.

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

During the first day we spent with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, we focused on introductions and a hardware overview. We’ve had a bit more time with it now and we want to share our thoughts on the updated UI (and its gestures) along with camera, including testdriving the HDR mode. As you may have heard, Xiaomi is on a path to give you as much screen real estate as it can and the way to do it doesn’t include a notch. Instead, the company slimmed the bezels as far as they would go and even removed the familiar Android navigation buttons. These buttons have been replaced with gestures – swipe…

MIUI 9.5 brings full-screen gestures to devices with 18:9 aspect ratio – Here’s how to enable it

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Xiaomi was one of the manufacturers which opted for capacitive navigation keys in favor to utilize maximum screen for display, but with 18:9 devices Xiaomi had to ditch the physical keys for on-screen navigation keys as devices with new aspect ratio have minimal bezels at front. Android manufacturers have started adopting gesture support after the launch of iPhone X and Xiaomi doesn’t want to remain behind in the race. Xiaomi introduced the Full Screen gestures with MIUI Global Beta ROM back in January but till that time Mi MIX 2 was the only device launched in India with 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India on 14th February with 18:9 ratio, Redmi Note 5 MIUI Global Beta ROM was made available to users as it is same as Redmi 5 Plus which was launched in China in Dec 2017. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is yet to receive MIUI Global Beta ROM and Full screen gesture support, but recently Oreo based MIUI Global Beta ROM was leaked for Redmi Note 5 Pro which has support for Full Screen gestures as well. As per a post on Mi Community, Xiaomi has decided to roll …
