Microsoft is testing a new change to its future version of Windows 10 which will probably annoy anyone using the operating system. The software giant revealed today that “we will begin testing a change where links clicked on within the Windows Mail app will open in Microsoft Edge.” The change means if you have Chrome or Firefox set as your default browser in Windows 10, Microsoft will simply ignore that and force you into Edge when you click a link within the Mail app.
It’s a ridiculous change, that’s similar to Microsoft forcing Cortana users to use Bing search and open results in the Microsoft Edge browser instead of other browsers that are set as default. “As always, we look forward to feedback from our WIP community,” says…

Today during a speech to military members in San Diego, President Trump proposed the idea of creating an entirely new branch of the US military specifically geared toward war efforts in space. He dubbed this theoretical new branch the “Space Force,” noting that such a new agency could become reality soon.
The problem is Trump’s administration actively opposed the idea of a Space Force last year. In June, the House Armed Services Committee drafted legislation in the National Defense Authorization Act that would create a “Space Corps” within the US Air Force.
The Air Force didn’t want it and even the White House objected to the idea at the time, saying it would create more bureaucracy. “I oppose the creation of a new military service and…
Your Apple Watch has frozen. Now what? Don’t worry, you can restart your Apple Watch; simply power it off, then power it on again. Even if your Apple Watch isn’t responding, you can still use this trick to reboot. If restarting your Apple Watch doesn’t get things back to normal, you can try a force restart. Let’s get started learning how to restart and force restart your Apple Watch so you can get it unfrozen and back to normal!
Press and hold the Side Button until three options appear: Power Off, Medical ID, and Emergency SOS.
Slide Power Off to the right.
If the screen is completely dark you’ll know your Apple Watch has shut off. Now hold the Side Button again until you see the Apple logo.
Force Restart Your Apple Watch
Don’t try to force restart if your Apple Watch is updating watchOS. You’ll know an update is happening if you see the Apple logo and progress wheel on the screen. Also, only use force restart if your Apple Watch didn’t respond to the regular restart procedure.
Press and hold the Side Button and Digital Crown for at least ten seconds.
Let go of both buttons when you see the Apple logo reappear.
Now you know how to restart and force restart your Apple Watch. If neither of these procedures worked to unfreeze your Apple Watch, please contact Apple Support!
Motorola may be in the middle of a big staffing shake-up, but that’s not stopping the company from keeping up with the flow of software updates for its existing hardware. Last year we saw Moto’s flagship Z series, with its support for modular hardware add-ons, evolve with its second generation of handsets, including the high-end Moto Z2 Force. For the past couple months now, we’ve been watching Motorola’s Oreo update for the Z2 Force spread to devices on more and more carriers, and now it looks like we’re adding Sprint to that list.
Sprint has started rolling out a new update to Motorola Moto Z2 Force units on its network. Arriving as software version OCX27.109.48, it’s a major update that brings along Android 8.0 Oreo. It’s been sometime the roll out began, so it’s likely that some units would have already got the update. For those who are yet to see the notification on their handset, the update should be arriving sooner than later. It’s worth mentioning that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon variants of the Moto Z2 Force have already received Oreo. Source | Via
The LG V30 on Verizon and Moto Z2 Force on Sprint are now receiving their Android 8.0 Oreo updates. Verizon hasn’t officially announced the Oreo update for its LG V30 yet, but some owners are receiving the OTA update, which is 1.8GB in size and bumps the phone to version VS99620a.
Android 8.0 Oreo originally began rolling out to devices in August 2017, but only a handful of non-Nexus and non-Pixel devices have received an Oreo update since then. It may have taken a while, but it’s good to see more Android flagships getting their Oreo update.
News has emerged that Google is helping the Department of Defense use artificial intelligence to analyze military drone footage. Information about the project was shared among company employees last week, and later shared by Gizmodo.
The initiative, known as Project Maven, was launched in April 2017. Its goal is to provide the U.S. Air Force with a means of sorting through the massive amount of imagery produced by its autonomous drones, to figure out which items require human analysis.
Google has been providing its TensorFlow application programming interface (API) to the Department of Defense in order to help machine learning algorithms recognize particular objects. A statement from the company submitted to Gizmodo stresses that the technology was used for non-offensive purposes.
However, there’s apparently some unrest among employees regarding the project. Some are upset that Google is dedicating resources to the military’s usage of surveillance technology, while others are arguing that Project Maven raises important questions about the ethical implementation of machine learning.
There’s resistance on the other side of the issue, too. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is a part of the Pentagon that’s responsible for analyzing images collected from satellites and drone footage. It’s currently in the process of introducing new technology into its capabilities, and some analysts are worried that too much reliance on automated systems instead of human experts will result in less effective intelligence.
Machine learning certainly has a role to play in military surveillance – Project Maven has apparently been employed in the fight against ISIS since December 2017, according to a report from The Bulletin. The question is how to use these tools ethically, and how much oversight is appropriate, given the nature of military operations.
Android P has already brought a lot of changes, including in the settings arena. But things in each application’s ‘App info’ have changed slightly as well; the ‘force stop’ button and version number have been hidden, though they’re luckily still accessible with an additional tap.

The most immediately noticeable changes here are the losses of the blue color from the ‘Disable’ and ‘Force stop’ buttons, as well as the ‘Force stop’ button itself.
