Canon’s AI flash moves by itself to make portraits more flattering

Camera flashes aren't normally the sexiest products, but Canon has made its Speedlite 470EX-AI a lot more interesting by using artificial intelligence. As photographers know, you're better off bouncing a flash off a wall or ceiling to best flatter su…

Canon made a flash that automatically figures out the best direction to point

Flash photography gets a bad rap, but the technique can make for fantastic photos when used correctly. Canon’s trying to slice the learning curve to bits when it ships its newest $ 399 Speedlite in April. It’s called the 470EX-AI, and it’s a flash that can automatically determine the “best” spot to bounce the light off of the ceiling.

The 470EX-AI looks just like every other Canon Speedlite, but it has motors inside at the base and hinge, and a sensor in the corner of the face of the flash. When you double tap the shutter button on your camera, the flash points out at the subject, calculates the distance, then points itself at the ceiling and does the same. Right after that, the flash reorients itself one last time into what it “thinks”…

The Remastered Version of 2008 Cult Hit Flash Game ‘The Majesty of Colors’ Finally Arriving February 28th

Well it has been QUITE a while since we first learned that Future Proof Games would be remastering and re-releasing Gregory Avery-Weir’s cult Flash game hit The Majesty of Colors on mobile and desktop platforms back in August of 2016, but never fear as the project is still alive and in fact it even has a release date now. This new version of The Majesty of Colors will arrive on both mobile and desktop platforms at the end of this month on February 28th. The Majesty of Colors is about a strange undersea creature who lives in the depths and darkness of the ocean, but then discovers the “majesty of colors” that exist above the surface and falls hard in love with them. Here’s a trailer.

A tap of the screen will control the monster’s huge tentacle which can grab and throw things like balloons, fish, and people. During the game you’ll make choices from branching paths of options which can lead to a number of different enemies. Will you make nice and protect your newfound human friends? Or will you, either accidentally or on purpose, make enemies with the humans and be forced to protect yourself when they come after you. I mean, you’re just a huge sea creature after all, you aren’t familiar with proper etiquette for human interactions! The Majesty of Colors was lauded for its interesting concepts when it originally released way back in 2008, and with the coming re-release just over a week from now a whole new generation will be able to experience it too.

Why LCD iPhone X Plus Sales Could Shatter 100 Million Units in a Flash

Why LCD iPhone X Plus Sales Could Shatter 100 Million Units

Various reports have come out all guns blazing and predicted that Apple is likely to ship up to 100 million units of 6.1-inch LCD iPhone X Plus which is all geared up to hit the floor later this year. Though the staggering number may have been a huge thunder for many and even caused sleepless nights for the rivals, I’m yet to find the forecast extraordinary! So, what makes the LCD iPhone 2018 such massive crowd favorites?

Well, several factors augur well for the smartphone. And of them is the ability to offer flagship features at a much less price.

Why LCD iPhone X Plus Sales Could Shatter 100 Million Units

Why Apple May Ship 100 Million Units of 6.1-Inch LCD iPhone X Plus

No one doubts the elegance and superiority of iPhone X, which has been branded as the best product Apple has ever released by many experts. Even hardcore critics have admitted being charmed by the smartphone. But the unexpected low demand after a beautiful holiday season has surprised many—including me. After all, the slashing of production target by a half from a mammoth 40 million units to around 20 million units is unbelievable.

I believe it’s the high price that’s proving to be the wrecker-in-chief. Had the price of the iPhone X variants started from $ 750–$ 800, Apple would have sold out a record number of iPhones. Though iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are available for that price point, nobody wants them as they look completely worn out.

And that brings me to 6-1-inch LCD iPhone! This guy already looks like a rock star and is shaping up pretty well to create history. The smartphone is rumored to flaunt edge-to-edge display and come with the most talked about feature of iPhone X—Face ID. It will feature an aluminum frame and a single lens camera. Despite having such impressive features, the starting price of the smartphone is said to be just $ 699.

A large number of prospective iPhone users had been waiting in the wings to upgrade to a new iPhone. Though many of them went for the upgrade, a huge group of people stayed away as they didn’t want to pay a hefty price for the radically designed smartphone that was yet to go through the grind.

Now that the iPhone X has been widely appreciated and features like Face ID and gesture bar have fully replaced Touch ID and Home button, they are willing to go with the change. Better still, the price of the smartphone doesn’t seem to be too high either.

“According to Kuo’s research note, shipment projections could fluctuate depending on the selling price of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, which Kuo believes will be somewhere between $ 700 and $ 800 in the United States. In his analysis, shipments will be around 105-115 million units when priced at US$ 699, and 95-105 million units when priced at US$ 799.”MacRumors

The analyst expects the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will alone account for around 50 percent of the new iPhone line-up’s shipments. He further says that the sales will remain strong into 2019.

Going by this forecast, I wouldn’t be shocked if the lifetime sales of 2018 iPhones could reach approximately 200-250 million units.

SanDisk reveals the world’s smallest 1TB USB-C flash drive

SanDisk is showcasing two new flash drives at CES this year. The more interesting one is the 1TB USB Type-C drive, which is said to be the smallest of its kind in the world. Unfortunately, there is not much else known about this drive for now apart from that it’s small and big at the same time. The other drive is an actual product that was launched, which is the SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive, which is claimed to be the smallest 256GB flash drive in the world. It has the same form-factor as other SanDisk Ultra Fit drives, which means it is just a tiny bit larger… – Latest articles
