LG’s mobile division is going through a rough patch. The Korean company even went as far as changing the head of Mobile Communications to try and turn things around, which led to postponing the LG G7 launch and instead bringing the refreshed V30S ThinQ to MWC 2018. The ThinQ moniker stands for the new AI features that LG developed, and according to leakster evleaks, the long-awaited flagship will be actually named G7 ThinQ and will come with scene recognition features and detailed Google Assistant commands. Weekly poll: is the Huawei P20 Pro the flagship you wanted?

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

We’re starting to understand why marketing departments love huge numbers they can push. “What’s that, Samsung and Apple? Your camera shoots only 12MP photos? How quaint!” When you have the only 40MP camera on the market like the Huawei P20 Pro has, the ad basically writes itself. You can take a gander at the camera samples we took – both in the native 40MP mode and the 10MP supersampled mode. One is great during the day, the other does its magic at night. What do you think? DxO loves it. We have to say that the hybrid zoom was quite impressive. It’s a combo of the 3x telephoto lens (8MP…

Huawei’s upcoming Mate flagship said to sport in-display fingerprint scanner

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Under the display fingerprint sensors are slowly becoming a thing and we are hearing reports that Samsung might include it in the upcoming Note9. This year we have already seen Vivo X20 Plus UD and X21 UD smartphones with the in-display sensor and it is just a start. Today we are hearing reports that Huawei might be going this route and it is said to sport an under-display fingerprint scanner. Huawei is said to be choosing the Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint solution which might make the new Mate 11 ( or Mate 20) flagship the first smartphone to ship with that particular sensor built-in. The Huawei Mate flagship s scheduled to launch in late Q3 or early Q4 (so September or October). Qualcomm, in order to build its ultrasonic sensor, is said to have partnered with Taiwan-based GIS and China’s O-film Tech, both specializing in offering touchscreen solutions. While it is three-time costlier than the traditional counterparts, but is also 0.44mm thick and works through “up to 800-micron cover glass”, compared to only 200-300 microns of glass thickness for ‘normal’ capacitive scanners. The sensor will also work when your fingers are wet or greasy. Huawei isn’t the only company looking towards under-display fingerprint sensors, others brands are also apparently decided to build …

Comparing the sizes of flagship chipsets: Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei adn Apple

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

There are four major manufacturers of flagship chipsets – Qualcomm (Snapdragon), Samsung (Exynos), Huawei (Kirin) and Apple (A-series). Three of those tend to be used in the respective companies’ own flagships. Apple certainly doesn’t want to share while Samsung and Huawei rarely find outside customers. We often talk about the power usage of a chipset – it’s important for the battery budget. Fabbing the chip at lower nanometers helps with that, but also balances the other important sheet. The price of a chip (patent costs aside) is proportional to its size. This makes it tricky to find…

Vivo has announced its latest flagship phone, the V9, and no surprises — there’s a notch. The V9 has a 6.3-inch 2280 x 1080 LCD with a 19:9 aspect ratio; Vivo says the notch helps achieve a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent.

The V9’s spec sheet is pretty standard, for the most part: there’s a Snapdragon 626 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 3260mAh battery, 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a Micro USB port, and a headphone jack. The phone runs Vivo’s Funtouch OS 4.0 skin atop Android 8.1 Oreo.

The camera system has a primary 16-megapixel sensor and f/2 lens paired with a secondary 5-megapixel unit for depth information and blurry backgrounds. As it often does, though, Vivo is prioritizing selfies — this time with a 24-megapixel f/2…
