Hider 2 conceals your personal files in a matter of clicks

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

The standard password protection for your Mac is surprisingly weak. A motivated thief or hacker can still access your hard drive with a few lines of code if your computer is stolen or your Internet connection is compromised. Hider 2 for Mac adds a crucial level of protection for your most sensitive information, and it’s on sale for just $ 12.99.

Amazon’s Music Storage service will remove your MP3 files on April 30th

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

We’ve known since last year that Amazon Music was planning to shut down its dedicated cloud music locker. Now, we have a date for when that process will begin. In an email to Amazon Music users, the company says uploaded songs will be removed from a user’s library on April 30th, 2018. You can however keep any music in the cloud by proactively going to your Music Settings and clicking the “Keep my songs” button.

Back in December, Amazon stopped letting users upload new tracks to Music Storage, which holds up to 250 songs for free. The company said at the time that by January 2019, users wouldn’t be able to download or stream tracks they’ve uploaded to Music Storage, so it sounds like you’ll still have many months between April and next…

Chrome will soon finally support casting local files

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

If you’ve ever used Chrome’s casting functionality, you’ve likely come across one of its more frustrating shortcomings. While it works great for casting an online video, a tab, or even your entire screen, Chrome simply cannot cast a local audio or video file natively, forcing you to resort to using a third-party extension or standalone app. Fortunately, the Chrome team is currently experimenting with adding the ability to cast local files directly from within the browser, according to the well-known Googler and ‘Chromium evangelist,’ François Beaufort.

Files Go is one of the few “Go” apps that Google has not restricted to phones running the Go Edition of Android. You can install it on any phone, and there are a few new features available today. Google Files Go finally gets smart search, Google Photos integration

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Google is finally rolling out the much-needed update to its File Go app. The update brings the ability to search for files on your phone just like you search the internet. The search will have Google’s expertise in the search including instant results, search history, autocomplete and filters. Now, when you open the Files tab, you can tap the search icon and find all of your files on your phone and it works offline too. Though the Files Go app deletes duplicate files, it doesn’t show you the location. But with the latest update, you will be able to see the location before you delete. All you got to do is just long press on the thumbnail, tap the “i” icon and see the location of the file. Another biggest addition is now Files Go works seamlessly with Google Photos. Once your photos and videos are safely backed up in Google Photos, Files Go app can detect that and prompt you to delete those files so you free up more space. The update is already rolling out and you can download the app directly from the Play Store. Source

Walmart files patent applications for drone shopping assistants and smart shopping carts

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Walmart filed a host of patents today related to how it keeps track of inventory — and the technologies could change the way its customers shop, as reported by Gizmodo.

One of the patents is clearly for the in-store experience, and proposes a sensing device to make shopping carts smart and communicate with a mobile device (presumably to help you navigate to where items are). There’s also a patent that tracks users through wearables, and several for managing / sensing inventory levels.

Walmart has also filed a patent for drones that would assist customers shopping in-store. The patent outlines a method where a drone can be summoned via a mobile device — either personal or one temporarily provided — and then “provide assistance to the user…

Google Files Go search

Google is once again improving its Files Go file management app.

Google today announced three changes coming to Files Go. The first is a file search feature that’ll let you search for files just like you search the web. This includes instant results, search history, autocomplete, and filters, and it works offline, too.

Files Go will also show you where your duplicate files are. When the app suggests a duplicate file for deletion, you can tap the “i” button to see its location.

Finally, Files Go now works with Google Photos. Once you’ve backed up your photos and videos to Google Photos, the Files Go app will detect that and suggest that you delete those files from your device to free up space.

Have you tried Files Go yet? If not, you can hit up the Play Store to download it now.
