Here’s what an iPad Pro with an iPhone X-style, edge-to-edge display might look like. Concept designer Martin Hajek combined the rumored iOS tablet with the logo for Apple’s next developer conference. (That’s where we might get our first actual glimpse of the device.) Hajek frequently creates drawings of devices that appear in Apple rumors, or […]

Following the break-out success of its radically redesigned iPhone X flagship, Apple is now rumored to be working on an all-new, next generation iPad model that incorporates many (but not all) of the tenth-anniversary iPhone’s most exciting new technologies and dazzling design hues, according to a Bloomberg report published earlier this week.
What Will It Look Like?
Citing sources with knowledge of Apple’s plans who requested anonymity due to the “private” nature of the company’s product development, the report goes on to claim that Cupertino is gearing up to release at least one new iPad model boasting a screen similar in size to the company’s latest, 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
Design & Display
The tablet will also feature a design similar to the iPhone X, not only incorporating the handset’s gorgeous, thin-bezeled and edge-to-edge display, but will also axe the iconic iOS Home button. Accordingly, the display will likely entail that the iPad look like a giant iPhone X.
Unfortunately, citing a number of unspecified “technical and financial constraints,” it’s unlikely that Apple will be able to secure OLED display panels for the new iPad in time for its unveiling. Specifically, the report talks about how Samsung Display Co. is currently the only OLED supplier with the capacity to help Apple. However, given the amount of time it would take to get OLED production underway, it’s just highly unlikely we’ll see Apple release a large OLED screen anytime soon (though it definitely will in the future).
Face ID, Animoji & More
The new iPad is also rumored to incorporate Face ID, Animoji, and other key 3D and AR imaging features thanks to the inclusion of a TrueDepth camera system in place of the Home button. The new iPad deign will likely include the same ‘notch’ configuration as the iPhone X, accordingly, however it’ll certainly be interesting to see how the feature works on such a huge display.
CPU and Processing
As far as internals, sources say the new iPad model will boast a more powerful processor in addition to a custom Apple-made GPU unit — perhaps an A11X, if history is any indication — which should bring the iPad’s performance more in-line with desktop computing solutions. That’ll certainly be interesting to see, too, especially considering how the company’s A11 Bionic has already put its own MacBook Pro to shame.
Above and beyond these key details, the report suggests we could see the new iPad model sometime in 2018, if all goes according to plan. Apple is also said to be working on a second-generation Apple Pencil device, which could launch alongside the new iPad; however the company, unsurprisingly, did not respond to Bloomberg’s request for additional details.
The OnePlus 5T is rumored to arrive this fall, following up on the OnePlus 5, which was released this past June. OnePlus hasn’t confirmed anything about the rumored phone yet.
A leaked photo of the OnePlus 5T is circulating online, showing a nearly edge-to-edge screen with slim bezels. The leak is a render of the top half of the OnePlus 5T, tweeted out by Evan Blass of Venture Beat. From the image, the phone appears to have 2.5D curved glass, similar to the iPhone 8.
According to an earlier leak from GizChina, the OnePlus 5T will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, an Adreno 540 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 20MP front and rear camera. The rumored 6-inch screen will reportedly have a 1080 x 2160 resolution. A tweet from OnePlus’s CEO from…

It’s already July so it’s time for the Huawei Mate 10 rumor train to pick up the pace. The latest intel on the upcoming phablet is that it will feature a taller, 18:9 Full Active display from JDI and that it will arrive sometime in October. We’ve already heard that the Mate 10 will be powered by a 10nm HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, so it will certainly offer beastly performance. The supply chain hum is that the Mate 10 will use an 18:9 6-inch 2160x1080px screen. Currently the Mate 9 has a conventional 16:9 5.9-incher at the front. A 6″ 18:9 screen would be taller than what the Mate 9…
