Xiaomi Mi 6X new leak confirms Snapdragon 626 chipset, camera details

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

The successor of the Xiaomi Mi 5X already popped up on TENAA with plenty of specs. While some of them are expected, like a tall screen and dual-cam setup on the back, today a new leak on the Mi 6X suggested the chipset would be the not-so-popular Snapdragon 626. The Xiaomi Mi 6X will have a 5.99″ IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution. The SoC, also seen in recently announced vivo V9 or the modular Moto Z2 Play, is a minor upgrade over the Snapdragon 625. Its eight CPU cores are still Cortex-A53, but this time they can reach clocking speed of 2.2 GHz, while the GPU remains Adreno…

Oppo R15 is rumored to come with MediaTek’s Helio P60 chipset

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Oppo has already started teasing its upcoming R15 earlier today, and now a new rumor out of its home country of China gives us a key detail regarding its specs. According to a source that’s been reliable at times in the past, the Oppo R15 will have MediaTek’s newly unveiled Helio P60 chipset at the helm. This features a CPU with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2 GHz and four A53 cores also at 2 GHz. For graphics it has the Mali-G72 MP3. MediaTek unveils Helio P60 chipset with Cortex-A73 and an AI core

MediaTek unveiled the Helio P60 – a mid-range chip that will challenge the Helio X30. And it goes without saying that it has hardware to accelerate AI tasks, the NeuroPilot core. The P60 is built on TSMC’s 12nm FF process (rather than 10nm FF+ like the X30). It has four Coretex-A73 cores lcocked at 2.0GHz and four A53 cores also at 2.0Ghz. That’s a massive jump in performance compared to the previous P-series chips – MediaTek promises a whopping 70% boost compared to the P30! The GPU is 70% faster than its predecessor – it’s a Mali-G72 MP3. That’s not going to live up to flagship…

MediaTek P60 chipset headed to MWC, Geekbench reveals

MediaTek is working on new chips and occasionally it lets them run a benchmark. A new model, Helio P60, was caught running Geekbench on a device with a tantalizing name – MTK P60 MWC Demo. It sounds like this will be a reference design rather than a phone meant for retail. It did have 4GB of RAM and ran Android 8.1, but the CPU cores used are unknown. Looking at the single-core score, it’s too high for Cortex-A53 – it’s closer to (though lower than) the scores we get from Cortex-A73. This is an octa-core processor so we’re likely looking at a big.LITTLE design. Both scores are…

Another Sony Xperia with Snapdragon 845 chipset visits Geekbench

A second flagship Sony Xperia with a Snapdragon 845 has visited Geekbench. The model number is different, but the specs are the same – the chipset, the Android 8.0 Oreo, the 4GB of RAM. These are either different variants of the same model – perhaps, the Xperia XZ2 – or one is the big unit (5.7″ screen, allegedly) and the other is the Xperia XZ2 Compact (5″ screen). These two should bring a new era in Sony’s design language. Sony will unveil the next-gen Xperia phones on Monday, but since its official teasers are vague, we have to rely on rumors for a preview. Qualcomm may follow up its 7nm modem with a 7nm chipset: the Snapdragon 855

Qualcomm unveiled its first 7nm chips yesterday. But there’s more to the story – Qualcomm contractors may be gearing up to build the Snapdragon 855 on a 7nm process as well. Qualcomm won’t say it, but their contractors do. Snapdragon 855 (SDM855) is the first 7nm SoC. (probably the one the X24 modem ends up in) pic.twitter.com/Ot1J34fQoG— Roland Quandt (@rquandt) February 15, 2018 The upcoming 845 chip is being built on a 10nm Low Power Plus process, an incremental upgrade over the 10nm Low Power Early process used in the 835. Samsung (which is fabbing the chips) claims 10% higher…

Moto G6 family confirmed to have 18:9 screens, G6 Play’s chipset leaks

Last month a huge leak told us that the upcoming Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play would all sport 18:9 touchscreens, and this has been confirmed by their listings in the database of HTML5test. While the aforementioned leak mentioned 2,160×1,080 resolution only for the G6 and G6 Plus (and 1,440×720 for the G6 Play), if the data in HTML5test is accurate then it looks like all three will actually sport the higher-res display. The G6 Play will have the model number XT1922, and according to its recent Wi-Fi certification it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, and launch running Android…

ZTE Axon 9 rumor points to 18:9 screen and Snapdragon 845 chipset

ZTE’s head honcho confirmed that the Axon 9 is coming this year and now some alleged images and specs have surfaced on Weibo. The phone both is and isn’t what we expected. A 6″ AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution – and 18:9 aspect ratio – was to be expected. A high-res AMOLED was one of the key selling points of the 7. But if you look under the screen, you’ll see that this Axon 9 features capacitive keys. Then there are two dual cameras. The rear camera features a 20MP primary sensor (an upgrade over the Dual 12MP camera of the Axon 7s) while the dual selfie camera sports a 13MP main…

Sharp Android One S3 has a tough exterior and a soft chipset

Sharp has introduced a new Android One phone – the Sharp Android One S3 for Y! Mobile. This is a fairly compact device with a dust and waterproof body. It even underwent some MIL-STD style shock testing by dropping it from 26 directions onto plywood from a height of 1.2m. The screen is a 5″ IGZO panel (1080p resolution) and has traditionally-sized bezels (a polite way of saying “big”). This is a Snapdragon 430 device after all, so don’t expect too much. You do get Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, running on 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (+ a microSD slot). The Sharp Aquos S3…
