Mark Zuckerberg has agreed to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to a CNN report. The committee is seeking more information concerning Facebook’s dealings with the data analysis firm Cambridge Analytica, which was suspended from the platform for inappropriate data collection earlier this month. Zuckerberg apologized for Facebook’s handling of the issue in a CNN interview last week, calling it “a major breach of trust.”

Zuckerberg has declined to appear before a UK parliamentary committee undertaking a similar investigation.

Facebook is facing mounting pressure over Cambridge Analytica’s behavior, spurred by public accusations from former research director Christopher Wylie. The new allegations center on a Facebook…

Instagram will make newer posts appear at the top of your feed

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Instagram Android app

Instagram’s algorithmic timeline has draw a lot of ire from users who complain about not seeing new posts in chronological order. Now it sounds like Instagram may be taking steps to change that.

Instagram announced today that it’s “making changes to ensure that newer posts are more likely to appear first in feed.” With the current algorithmic feed, you might see a post that’s four days old at the top of your feed, then have to scroll down a bit before you see something new. These changes aim to fix that.

Another change coming to Instagram is a “New Posts” button. This button will let you decide when you want to refresh your feed rather than having it happen automatically and bumping you to the top when you don’t want that to happen. Tap the button and you’ll be sent to the top of your Instagram feed to view your new posts.

These sound like solid improvements to Instagram’s feed. While it doesn’t sound like the company is switching back to a totally chronological feed, these changes should help to ensure that you see more new posts as they come in.

Apple CEO Tim Cook to Appear on MSNBC on April 6

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

Apple CEO Tim Cook will sit down for an interview with Recode‘s Kara Swisher and MSNBC‘s Christopher Hayes on Friday, April 6 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, MSNBC announced today.

The interview will be titled “Revolution: Apple Changing the World,” with no other details about Cook’s appearance at this time.

With no additional information available, it’s not clear what Cook’s discussion will include, but topics like privacy and data collection are likely to come up given the recent scandal with Facebook and Cambridge Analytica and concerns over the CLOUD Act.

Cook may also spend time discussing the new educational initiatives Apple plans to introduce at its March 27 event, and we could get additional commentary on the consequences of Apple’s power management features in older iPhones.

Cook is often tight-lipped about new products, but he could potentially provide some veiled hints on what Apple’s working on both this year and in the future.

We’ll have coverage of Cook’s interview with Recode and MSNBC here on MacRumors on April 6.

iOS 11 bugs are so common they now appear in Apple ads

How Complete Beginners are using an ‘Untapped’ Google Network to create Passive Income ON DEMAND

If you blink during Apple’s latest iPhone ad, you might miss a weird little animation bug. It’s right at the end of a slickly produced commercial, where the text from an iMessage escapes the animated bubble it’s supposed to stay inside. It’s a minor issue and easy to brush off, but the fact it’s captured in such a high profile ad just further highlights Apple’s many bugs in iOS 11.

9to5Mac writer Benjamin Mayo spotted the bug in Apple’s latest ad, and he’s clearly surprised “that this was signed off for the commercial,” especially as he highlighted it months ago and has filed a bug report with Apple. It’s just one of many quirks in iOS 11, including strange UI problems in the Music app, regularly misaligned text in the App Store, v…
