Google Allo v26 prepares for multiple-account support, customizable stickers, GIFs, new camera effect and more

Google Allo V26 has started rolling out. While the update doesn’t bring in terms of customization, a teardown of the APK has revealed upcoming features like the support for multiple accounts, customizable stickers, Gifs, new camera effects and more. https://youtu.be/RUNodAtMigs Google Allo V26 adds strings to Scene Generation feature which is an expressive feature which can essentially create custom stickers and GIFs themed from the text you enter. This icon will be present next to the gif on Allo’s main conversation toolbar. You can either create a custom sticker or a gif from the text you enter. Google Allo and Duo soon will be able to connect with other users through email IDs rather just relying on phone numbers. The upcoming update might also add the ability to choose which of the accounts should be preferred to start a new conversation. This setting is currently referred to as the “default sender id,” but will change when it goes live. The teardown also reveals new effect called “shocked breaking news,” is being discovered. Once the feature is live, the user needs to download required assents and then the effect will provide an overlay in the center. Allo updates are starting to roll out, but as the trend has been going, there’s not much to see in the main interface for this update. However, tearing down the APK has turned up signs of good things to come. Support for using Google accounts to find contacts and start conversations is going to be pretty robust as hints suggest we’ll be able to sign in multiple accounts. There’s also a new camera effect listed, a little activity around the scene generation feature, and a hint that the behavior of bots may by changing.

Google Duo can now make calls with users who haven’t installed the app, Allo message previews improved

Google recently updated Duo app that brought a slightly updated look to the contact list, fun rearrangement of pixels. One of the most significant features in the update was the ability of Duo to call people that haven’t installed or registered with Duo in the past.  The feature almost exactly works the same way it does with the regular call, including the Knock-Knock feature. An incoming will fly over the screen with a view of the caller’s camera even if the app is not installed on the phone. These are of course audio calls, and the users can either accept, reject, mute their mic, change cameras. https://giant.gfycat.com/ElderlySmoothBobwhite.webm At the end of the call, users will be prompted to install the app if they’re interested and will also show a pop-up which allows you to block a caller from contacting you again. This feature is powered by the  Google Play services called App Preview Messaging, which Google debuted alongside Allo in 2016. It is available to some developers through an early-access preview program, but it didn’t open up to all yet. Duo calls can now be made with some users that don’t have it installed, Allo chats also improved

Google recently began rolling out a slightly updated look to the contact list on the Duo video calling app. Alongside this fun rearrangement of pixels, there was also a very real, very significant change made: You can now call people that haven’t installed or registered with Duo in the past. It works almost exactly like a normal Duo call, including the Knock-Knock feature.

As the video above shows, the Duo app is not installed on the phone, but an incoming call can instantly fly over the screen with a view of the caller’s camera.
