Until recently, only two notification levels were possible for Google+ communities and collections you’re subscribed to: on or off. Thankfully, someone at Google has realized how frustrating it is to only get all notifications or none at all, and a new Highlights option has just been introduced.
Selecting Highlights will give you periodic digest notifications with some of the top posts from all of your communities and collections. This should mean that you won’t miss out on any important news or updates while at the same time not getting all the usual spam.

Tidal has added a new feature that will let you automatically add albums to your library as soon as they are released. The new “pre-save” feature will allow Tidal users to add albums to their collections as soon as they are uploaded to Tidal’s service ahead of the release date.
Spotify has a similar feature, but it’s seemingly only used in marketing campaigns by artists and labels, and you need a direct link to the album to use it. Tidal is launching the new feature alongside Deadmau5’s new album, which can be pre-saved now and will be officially released next week.

Instagram is rolling out another new feature today, and this one is aimed at making user profiles better.
Instagram says that live hashtags and profile links are being added to bios. This means that if you include a hashtag or @ user name in your profile, they’ll now be live links that will send a person to the live hashtag page or user profile when tapped.
This is a small tweak, but it’s one that makes Instagram user profiles better. Most people probably expected to be able to tap a hashtag or user name and be able to go to the page for that hashtag or user, especially since that’s how it works in regular Instagram posts. Now it’ll work that way in user profiles, too.
One other detail of note is that when you mention someone’s profile in your bio, they’ll receive a notification and can choose to remove the link. If they do, their profile name will still be in your bio, but the link will no longer work.
